Product Care & Cleaning
Keep your CliniSpecs performing at their best.
- Rinse under lukewarm running water to remove dust, debris, or particulate matter
- Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent or an approved optical lens-cleaning solution
- Gently clean lenses and frames using clean hands or a soft, non-abrasive cloth
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all residue
- Allow to air dry or pat dry using a clean, lint-free microfibre cloth
- Store in a clean case when not in use to prevent scratching or contamination
- Follow workplace infection-control protocols for disinfection compatibility
- Do not use hot water, it can warp frames and damage lens coatings
- Do not use bleach or chlorine-based solutions on lenses or frames
- Do not use alcohol or acetone-based disinfectants directly on lenses
- Do not use abrasive wipes, paper towels, or tissues, they scratch optical coatings
- Do not use household cleaning sprays not intended for eyewear
- Do not place lenses face-down on hard surfaces
- Do not leave eyewear in direct sunlight or high-heat environments
Clinical environments
Disinfection considerations
In environments where additional disinfection is required, follow workplace infection-control protocols and ensure that disinfectants used are compatible with optical eyewear.
If compatibility is uncertain, test on a small inconspicuous area first, or seek guidance from CliniSpecs before routine use.
Why it matters
Coating integrity
Repeated exposure to incompatible disinfectants can irreversibly damage lens coatings, reducing optical clarity, causing hazing or micro-abrasion, and shortening product lifespan.
Proper care is part of the clinical performance commitment CliniSpecs eyewear is designed to support.
